The Boys & Girls Club of Bristol Family Center will be hosting a special breakfast event with new UConn Men’s Basketball Coach Dan Hurley, and Adrian Wojnarowski, Sr. NBA Analyst for ESPN. This is a fantastic opportunity for UConn fans to meet Coach Hurley and learn about his values, experiences and plans for the future of UConn basketball.
Proceeds from the event will support the Boys & Girls Club of Bristol Family Center's Capital Campaign Project, and will help the Club continue to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.
“One of the most important foundations of my early life came as a result of my experiences at the Jersey City Boys & Girls Club,” said Coach Hurley. “Lessons of social equality, fair play and competitive spirit were found in abundance there. Boys & Girls Clubs remain one of the most important safe havens and learning centers in our towns and cities, and I am honored to help a new generation share in those important values that shaped me.”
Bristol’s Adrian Wojnarowski, who will be interviewing Coach Hurley said, “If you spent any part of your childhood in the Bristol Boys & Girls Club on Laurel Street, you probably remember saying this over and over: ‘Door Please!’ The front desk would press a button, a buzzer would sound, and you’d be cleared to walk into the locker room, the gym, or the swimming pool. Well, those words still resonate with many of those who’ve worked so hard to build a bigger, better Bristol Boys & Girls Club that now serves a greater diversity of young people in more ways than ever. The doors of the Club have never been more open to more opportunities for more in our community. The Bristol Boys & Girls Club has undergone an incredible transformation --- and there’s even more to do. I’m thrilled to be part of a fundraising breakfast with new UConn basketball coach Dan Hurley, who himself is a product of the Boys & Girls Club. It’ll be a fantastic opportunity for UConn fans to get up-close with Coach Hurley. Please join us!”
Boys & Girls Club board member Mike DellaBianca is also excited about the event and said, "The Boys & Girls Club of Bristol Family Center is an organization that has influenced generations of young people, and its impact is as strong today as it’s ever been. We continue to provide our members with an opportunity and a pathway to “Be Great!”. There are no better examples of former “club kids” who have forged their way to be great than Coach Dan Hurley and Adrain Wojnarowski. We are thrilled to have them as our guests for what will be a very memorable event."
Tickets can be purchased at the Club located at 255 West Street or online at www.bbgc.org. If you are interested in being a sponsor or have questions about the event, reach out to Sarah Lucian, Development & Marketing Director at 860-540-3142 or firstname.lastname@example.org
